Fireworks

I'm so thankful for the faith and determination and sacrifice the pioneers went through to establish Utah and be able to worship freely. We heard some really inspirational pioneer stories in church Sunday.

Then on Monday we scheduled a Firework show some of those big fireworks that used to be illegal and some other small ones. My dad got some for free since they sell some by his office. Freestone was carefully planning the Finale for days. Coco and Bill, Josh and Emily and their kids, Lexie and her family and Jeff and Richelle's gang came to watch them on our lawn. It was all fun and games until the first big one tipped over and shot out into the field by our house and then at all of us. I thought the field would catch on fire and then that I'd be blinded by the sparks flying at all of us. We all scrambled away and thankfully no one was hurt, but Lexie did get a scorched shirt! She said if she hadn't been getting up to leave it would have hit her in the face! After that I, being the scaredy cat that I am stayed inside and watched them out the windows. I put Tolly to bed and read him a story. It was fun to be with family and watch dangerous explosive sparks in 3D!
