Memorial Day

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, otherwise known as Lagoon Day for our family! So we go to the graves on Sunday, and go to Lagoon on Monday. This year we are not getting season passes because we are saving our money for our Imperial Beach trip, so we will be going on all the rides that day. Today we will visit Grandma Great's grave. The kids really miss her, and whenever we talk about heaven or church things, they say "and we'll see Grandma Great!" I'm so glad they know we will see her again someday.  We will also visit Grandma Hill.

 The cemetery is very pretty. It has a stone statue of Jesus that we take a picture of the family by every year. We also get free pops at a little stand. I'm glad I got to know Grandma Dopp(grandma Great), I didn't know Grandma Hill, but my dad has a lot of stories about her. I also visit Big Golda. I was named after her. I am Little Golda. I was about six when she died and so I remember a few things about her. I remember she couldn't talk and had to be fed through a tube. We would have to buy her food at Family Dollar, it came in cans and I remember it looked like pink milk. Grandma Hill looks a lot like my Grandma Marlene, and Orson looks like my dad.  Memorial Day is a great day to learn about our ancestors and get ready for the day we will see them again in heaven.
